Selena was an extremely well-known Latino singer throughout North America. Her music transcended the boundaries of culture and brought joy to both young people and older adults. Selena was a sexy, flamboyant performer on stage who was sometimes referred to by the Latina Madonna. In her off-stage life, Selena was also an excellent role model since she was active in anti-drug and AIDS campaigning.
